I used to love doing the mosh pit on my nights out whilst occasionally having a punk night out!!! The bar and dance area was part of a casino (believe it or not) obviously in a different room, built over the beach like the famous pier in Southend-on-Sea over here and a little bit further along the beach heading towards Leigh-on Sea. Nights out in Southend were excellent!
Moshing was a big part of my life for at least 5 years, maybe longer. It was just so great to lose myself, but also become a part of something that seemed utterly chaotic on the outside, but had a rhythm and rules once you were on the inside. That was really cool.
"There was a pro wrestling game that had announcers commenting on the match, and one of their comments was: It’s a total debacle! Research tells me this was probably the voice of Vince McMahon."
Or one of the guys who called the matches during those days on TV, like Gorilla Monsoon or the late "Mean Gene" Okerlund.
Working with computer scientists my entire career, there is so much clever language repurposed. Scaffolding, Substrate, Sharding (just tro pick on the esssese)
Fungible in I think today’s article made me think of this. Popular one when you’re trying to sound like a smart ass.
One of my all time favorites is Orthogonal ne Geometry but in CS it’s meant to call out two completely unrelated things but in complex systems everything is connected and unintended consequences rule the day.

That’s great knowing that! Sometimes stumbling across something can give you that much needed release. It certainly did for me.

“Mean Gene” was nothing short of brilliant.
He was the Buster Keaton of pro wrestling- poker face all the way.

That’s how we got the terminator.
I, for one, welcome our new Austrian-accented overlords.

As the child of a holocaust survivor.

Whoa, awesome! I mean, if you're into traveling freely and having rights and stuff.
