This is quite timely for me. Sometimes doing nothing is the best option and doing something actually complicates things. It feels counterintuitive until you realize every action has a reaction. It’s not always a good thing. It’s just how energy works.

You can always count on me to encourage you to be lazier.

Intentional inaction is sometimes the best action to take (and one I struggle with)

You and be both! It has gotten easier in the past 10 years or so, but I need more practice.

Once, driving back from LA, my then little kid was being a PITA throwing peanut M&Ms (it's a long drive) when I lost it and screamed at him:

"Close your eyes and look out the window!"

After a moment of silence and no more flying M&Ms, he said in a small voice:

"How can I look out the window with my eyes closed?"

We all laughed and no one died on that car ride. It has since become family lore repeated to me on the regular.

Nicely done! Every now and then, I do something way smarter than I meant to do. I love it when a plan doesn’t come together.

The title reminds me of a line of dialogue on a "Dudley Do-Right" episode, where the Inspector tells him: "Stand there! Don't just do something!" The narrator then adds: "It took them about a half an hour to straighten that out...".
