I've bought a lot of gray market 35mm film back in the early 2000s when film was supposedly dying. It's currently having a renaissance.

I bet we see that happen with a lot of things during the remainder of this decade, especially. There's such a backlash to all things digital, or at least all things artificial. It's kind of fun to watch that pendulum swing without as much passion as the cheering fans in the stadium on either side!

Film used to be very expensive, right?

The prices have become crazy during this. Polaroid/Instax approaching $4/ea shot!

Wow. Everything is so "artisan" now.

The aesthetic has changed for sure. I am a straight photography guy most of the time.

Straight photography is a modernist movement emphasizing sharp focus, rich detail, and unmanipulated imagery that relies entirely on a camera's intrinsic mechanical capabilities. It emerged in the early 20th century as a direct rejection of Pictorialism, which used dreamy, painted-over effects to mimic traditional art forms

I like that style. I think that’s me, too, though I’ll occasionally dabble in the other style on occasion. I may have taken 2000+ pics of Dinkles.

Hahaha! I use the same "models" every time since I am stuck here at the house by MS issues.
