Jerry Lundergard isn’t having the best day. But then again, neither are his customers.
Reeking of desperation, Jerry leans across his desk, fixating his gaze on the couple seated before him. The wife is uneasy and ready to get out of this uncomfortable situation, while the husband exudes growing irritation.
The couple seem to be ready to close the deal, intent on finalizing the specific financial terms.
“Yeah, but I'm saying—that TruCoat: you don't get it, you get oxidation problems. It'll cost you a heck of a lot more than $500.”
The wife attempts stoicism, but it’s obvious that she doesn’t want to have anything to do with this conversation. Her husband's face turns a shade redder, the frustration mounting as they are led in circles by Jerry's deft manipulation. All the while, the car salesman continues to weave his web, his voice smooth and his smile unyielding.
After a tense moment where Jerry disappears to have a casual conversation with his boss, Jerry offers the final insult:
