In Sorcery and Silicon, I shared with you a sense of wonder about the rapidly evolving interplay between society and technology as we navigate 2023. We marveled together at the innovations that seemed to alter our world overnight. Today, however, I want to shift gears slightly.

I want to show you what’s just around the corner, but from a different perspective. I aim to pull back the curtain on the darker, more dystopian implications of our technological advancements.

Technological progress has always challenged the boundaries of our collective imagination. With every stride we take into the unknown, we experience a cocktail of excitement, apprehension, and at times, a palpable sense of unease. I feel this entire spectrum acutely when I consider the trajectory of our current advancements, but today I want to focus on the dystopian side.
