Coming up with imaginary chupacabra creatures like a child. So funny.
I wonder what she'd say about actual, real-world monsters that walk among us, like the terrifying killer clown that haunts the streets of Copenhagen. I saw him the other day, luring kids into his sewer hiding spot with red balloons. I remember it vividly. He had a scary mouth full of way too many teeth.
I think his name was Dimesmart or Centclever or something.
I did! I tried linking to the Suff in this piece, but my search didn't turn anything specific up (although I am quite sure I've written about it here).
Hm, I was unable to find when searching through my own stuff, but maybe I never explicitly mentioned the Suff when writing. I seem to remember doing some shenanigans, though!
Well, thanks for that! I do trust your judgment, so in the future if you see something that's appropriate to comment on and you've already written about it, please feel free to share! I write down my ideas by way of my daily writing, so whenever someone wants to have a conversation about one of those things, the odds are good that I've already presented the case in there, so I tend to share a lot too.... but only when it's relevant!
Deep dive comment readers, go read Patricia's writing about the Melon Heads!

"Chupacabra" means "Goat sucker" in Spanish- so obviously your avatar is concerned about its existence.
That is 100% where the image came from!
This is the season of the odd and glittery.
Silly old Madelyne, so impressionable.

Kroneythinky! I love that guy.
Rublebrain, actually. Everyone gets it wrong on first try.

🤣 Thanks, Andrew! Awesome! I wondered if you'd remember that one. It was really fun.

That's odd. It hasn't disappeared completely, I found this old one from The Man Behind The Screen. https://open.substack.com/pub/talesofcalamityandtriumph/p/a-shroud-of-ink-and-stars?r=25941x&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
I can't remember who else wrote about it too but there were a bunch...

The Melon Heads of Allegan County is one of my favorite cryptids in Michigan. That was an interesting legend to dig into.
Neat! Did you write about this? If so, please feel free to share a link here.
Yup. https://twistingmyths.substack.com/p/the-melon-heads-of-allegan-county
(I didn't want to be that Substacker who throws links anywhere and everywhere without asking if it was okay first.)

Cryptids are crazy, but also: they're ours.
I like Dexter's Laboratory's version of Chupacabra the best.
