Thanks for the mental image of Gods breathing stuff into me. I'm not sure I'll be recovering from that.
But also, it's comforting to know that my Netflix binges are the modern equivalent of mountaintop pilgrimages. I feel so accomplished now.
Nowadays, I quite often turn to quick Internet searches or ChatGPT for minor stuff that pops up, e.g. whenever my kids ask something curious. I mostly take it for granted, and, since there's almost no friction, it doesn't feel like learning or drawing inspiration. But it's crazy to think how different that mode of exploration is from what I grew up with.
It's wild: I get way more ideas now, but realize that others have had those same ideas pretty quickly. That doesn't mean I don't chase myself down a rabbit hole if it's interesting, but it does mean that idea generation is easier for everyone now, not just me.
Animation has been my major inspiration as a fiction writer, and it is also something I have chronicled in my non-fiction writing. There have been other things as well, but that still looms large in developing my current artistic mindset.
I think I was likewise inspired really early on by The Amazing Spider-man and The Justice League of America, two shows that were on when I was really young. I can see that WB cartoons had a strong impact on my humor base too, and Ren and Stimpy, LIquid TV, and Beavis/Butthead took me through much of adolescence, inspiring and teaching lessons along the way.
I am pretty sure I've had this, but now I want to confirm. Can you teleport a horchata over to me real quick? Or, I'll try to remember next time I'm somewhere that serves 'em.

¡Horchata! We got a pint of Horchata ice cream at Trader Joe's and spent some time figuring out what it was and why it is so deliciosa

I can send you a bunch of opening exclamation points to go with it ¡¡¡
