There is a non-zero portion of me shaking my fist at throwing all those cans of Spam away just because of this incident, but that's probably me clinging to frugality a little too much.

Your almost seamless pivot from poop to pee clearly showcases your versatility as a Substack writer. It's rewarding to observe your evolution!

Next week, I will challenge myself by seeing if I can talk about both at once: butt pee.

Don't fly too close to the sun, my friend. That's how good-old Peecarus got burned. (I'm not apologizing.)

I'm pretty sure I nailed it the first time, but your innate one-upmanship is fine, too. (Yes, I came up with "your innate" all by myself, thanks.)

I feel like it's more like verbal ping-pong. It's true that I will sometimes post something more clever than what you've said in response, but I never let not having something funnier stop me from ping-ponging the ball right back!

Now I'm curious if there's a way to integrate balls into the discussion.

Great, now we're balls deep into this pee hole. (The deeper we go, the darker things get.)

It's not just human waste that can be valued like this- the manure and urine of animals has been used for fertilizer as well as being an essential source to understanding their diets and behavior.

I think about bat guano every time I go into my back yard! We have a little bat habitat out there, and get to see them hunting for flying bugs at dusk. Habi-bat?

good one! timely with society needing more and more rare earth elements. I was talking to a friend who was replacing the actuators in his car and learned about Dysprosium which China pretty much has a lock on and is needed to make the seats in your car go to and fro. And then there's Neodymium and Terbium and Praseodymium and more that power these tiny high torque motors.

Been thinking about how as we build new stuff we have to get more out of what we find around us. Bronze doesn't cut it anymore.

This post also made me thing of Howard Hughes saving up all his pee in jars

You might really enjoy this book I read years ago called "The Disappearing Spoon." I remember learning about all these elements for the first time - it's good and fun!

I forgot about Howard Hughes and the pee in the jars stuff. Genius and madness - why y'all gotta be related like that?
