Try to see something in the same direction where a bright light is shining, and you’ll almost certainly find yourself squeezing your eyelids together, leaving a narrow horizontal slit for light to enter your eyes.
Exactly! I think your eyes can get sunburned too which for some reason I also find terrifying. I think blue eyed people like me are more sensitive to sun like some albino adjacent thing so maybe that's why I think about such things. Or I could have completely made up a legend in my own mind
I think there's something to the eye pigment thing. It's not color per se, but the amount of melanin- blue has very little relative to, say, dark green or brown.
Also: eye color is an illusion in the first place, but that's another conversation entirely!

Excellent addition.
Interesting stuff
I thought it was as just me feeling sleepy if I have to squint a lot! Consider me educated!
In The Way Back, they cut slits in bark to try to make it out of Siberia without going blind ala the Inuits
Absolutely! Proto-sunglasses have been around for a loooooong time.
Snow blindness tho ... terrifying
Yes. It's very nonintuitive, isn't it? Seems like more light would be a good thing, but NO, light has to be all sassy like that.

Can't tell if educational or informative. Why not Zoidberg?
Can Zoidberg squint? It seems like most land animals can, but not underwater type critters. He seems to resemble something aquatic.
That sounds like a job for Andrew’s famous Perplexity-assisted explorations!
I did it. The verdict: squids can't squint. I think he most closely resembles a squid. Can I have some calamari now?
You avoided a calamity, so…yes?
IMO, Zoidberg looks a little clam-ity.
“Explain that cla(i)m!” I exclammed. “Zoirberg isn't some clammy clam. He's just a bit clamsy.”
Interesting, as always ! Thanks 👏👏👏
