I watched the video and it was quite interesting. Now all I’ve been doing is asking my 3 year old fun questions, his answers vary from very insightful to refusing to believe parts of what I am saying. Example. He doesn’t understand that we live on a planet, so when confronted with this, he accused me of lying and said I was talking silly. When I tried to explain what a planet was, he said, what you still talking about momma. 😂 you’re weird.

Ha! Ask him what we live on instead. What is this place? Could be really fun!

Oh that is a good reframe! I will report back soon. I’m so behind here, I need to catch up on my reading this week. Hope you have a happy New Years, Andrew!

Tom Cruise is Punch McFistfury.

Get ready for..."The Anatomy Of Impact."

Chapter one of the McFistfury trilogy.

It's impressive you're still throwing down with the younglings. In the meantime, I'm still recovering from soreness after a 30-minute indoor workout on my wife's fitness app two days ago.

I should maybe mention that BJJ has zero punches, and that's why I love it.

Yeah I'm vaguely aware that it's a bit of grappling with lots of floor work and locks, etc. I'd probably end up twisting my own leg out of its socket. Take that, my hypothetical opponent.

Most people would do that, absent any training. Some will eventually do it even with a bunch of training. It's not exactly Crossfit in terms of danger level, but it's also not knitting.

There's your new campaign slogan:

"BJJ: It Ain't Knitting"

also:

"Simulated murder"

"like the kama sutra, but without any sex"

Some of these need a little work.

I got back in the gym today after a month hiatus. Feels great to get beat up actually! I’m always thinking about this when my coach is going over a submission-when they tell you how your muscle will tear unless you tap out to a particular lock right away. It’s so funny because everyone in the class is kinda laughing as he describes in detail what would happen, but at the same time we can all laugh because we trust each other not to actually hurt one another. When you have good guidelines and boundaries one can explore violence in a safe way. It’s a pretty cool paradox

I love this paradox. We simulate murder, and yet we feel very, very safe in that setting.

Congrats on getting back on the mat!
