Company connections are interesting, and often illuminating. You only have to look at the British East India Company, which began as a trading entity and eventually ruled much of India.
I like how weird it is! I think it's like 3/4 Llamas in Hats, but that skit also had a cultural moment. Still: creative, weird, and amusing. Good find!
Is there also a cocktail called Banana King? Because there should be! It's so fitting, seeing how alcohol can make you just delusional enough to believe in all sorts of stuff.
No, but there's a fast food restaurant by the same name that serves a "cocktail" that might make you hallucinate! Their standards for cleanliness are not very high, I'm afraid to report.
I have chosen to pay as little attention as possible to our current king banana. Friends are getting upset on both sides and using a lot of hyperbole, imo. I chose to let people I don’t know deal with their problems. I help family and friends if asked or I see how I can help and offer it. But in this time of hyperbole, I pull in words and expressions in order not to throw gas on the flames. If teotwawki causes me or immediate family issues, I will do whatever I need to do, but the bar is high to respond highly.
I love it. There are people who are compelled to act right now, and I'm glad those folks are out there - but we need patient folks who are assessing the situation and ultimately determining a good course of action rather than rushing in and making a situation even worse somehow. King Banana!
"There is now a dark legacy surrounding the phrase banana republic, where no self-respecting nation ever wants to be called one of those."
Possibly excepting the well-known chain store by that name.
If that store has become a nation, we are in trouble.
Not as long as it’s owned by a larger “nation”- the Gap.
Excellent point. Does that make BR more like a state, then?
A colony.
If Gap is a nation, then LVMH is an empire, ya?
Yes.

Indeed. I think about the VOC and the British East India Co almost every day right now. What does that say about me?
Perhaps you should have a stiff Gin & Tonic and lie down?
What about the bloody quinine shortage?!!
😱
FilmCow also made Llamas with Hats! What is wrong with you Carl? https://youtu.be/kZUPCB9533Y
I love when the faces start falling, maybe like episode 4? "Nobody likes raw face. That's just gross."
Have you watched (new!) Smiling Friends?
Nope! Link that sucker here and I surely will, though.
https://youtu.be/jeFZSnA7lLc I think you need MAX aka HBO to watch them all
